Box (6) of Mount Trio Chardonnay, Great Southern WA
A lovely, medium bodied, style of Chardonnay with a good depth of those fresh melon and white peach fruit flavours. There’s a light fresh acidity that adds width and depth to the palate and accentuates the long finish. The oak adds complexity and structure to the palate. It is well weighted; its natural fruitiness being balanced by the acid and it has great persistence of flavour. Just 15% went through malolactic fermentation so there’s some light butterscotchy flavours which add complexity to the palate. This wine is excellent drinking now and would be a great match with most foods; it will also handle a couple of year’s bottle age. Serve lightly chilled.
