TIM SMITH EDEN VALLEY RIESLING 750ML
Sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1922 in Eden Valley. No spectacular secret winemaking here: whole bunch pressed to tank, cold settled, and then racked to ferment with a cultured yeast. Bottled early to preserve freshness. Classic Eden Valley Riesling with tones of lemon, lime and bath salts. Drink cold with oysters while watching the sunset.

“Serious Riesling from a not so serious producer. Tim Smith’s laid back persona comes through in his wines and what a brilliant drink this is! The prettiness and splendour of the Eden Valley are on show here. Bring it! Scents of pretty gardenia and little white field flower aromas captivate from the outset. Buckets of limes, flirtatious green apples and a squeeze of lemon juice with citrus and grapefruit acidity add vibrance. The well-handled concentration of fruit makes you want to dive in – delicious! Chalky on close with a riverstone presence, it’s moreish and damn refreshing. Sweltering afternoons have never tasted so good. Go here. Drink now but it will age gracefully.” – Steve Leszczynski

“What a solid performer this wine is – see here – produced from a centenarian vineyard. Lime, white lily, a little spice with a gin and tonic thing happening. It’s all juicy lime and green apple, with a firm chalky feel to it, plenty of bite and tang, and also quite stony. with a lime zest finish of excellent length. It’s perhaps a little rugged, though I like that character anyway; it’s textural and interesting.” – Gary Walsh
