West Cape Howe 'Book Ends' Cabernet Sauvignon
Super deep, very dark crimson red. Typically for Mt Barker Cabernet, our 2016 ‘Book Ends’ is quite restrained on the nose with smoky dark berries and red currant characters. Also has hints of raspberry with dark chocolate. This is well flavoured and more generous on the palate with those gorgeous dark, dusty, berry fruit flavours. It has good weight with the fruit flavours complemented by the delicate, smoky spiciness from its maturation in French oak. The gently drying tannins are not at all aggressive and contribute to the wines great persistence and length of flavour. This is a medium bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that can be enjoyed now with many foods. It will, however, definitely reward further cellaring as it will continue to develop over the next 6 ++ years.
